    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    Review applications for the Educational Incentive Program (EIP), Quality Scholars and Medication Administration Training (MAT) scholarship programs to determine eligibility and issue scholarship awards when applicable.  Job responsibilities include, but are not limited:

    ·         Complete a detailed review of EIP, Quality Scholars and MAT scholarship applications for compliance with all program requirements and process applications accordingly pursuant to that review.
    ·         Review courses on EIP and Quality Scholars applications to ensure they clearly reflect the subject areas required by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
    ·         Use effective interviewing skills and critical thinking to obtain clarification and additional information from applicants and training organizations.
    ·         Issue EIP, Quality Scholars and MAT awards to eligible applicants.
    ·         Conduct daily correspondence with EIP participants and training organizations by phone, email, and mail.
    ·         Assist in the continued development of scholarship operating procedures.
    ·         Assist in the development of scholarship program materials.
    ·         Other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
    2. One year of relevant experience.
    3. Excellent communication (interpersonal, written, and verbal), customer service, and telephone skills.
    4. Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to complete tasks with a strong attention to detail.

    Job Title: Senior Education Specialist-Child Welfare Trainer

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
    Under the direction of the Department Manager or designee, the Senior Education Specialist-Child Welfare Trainer works with the project team to conduct activities related to the design, development, and delivery of continuing professional education programming.  Classroom training to be delivered statewide, in addition to conducting virtual/computer-based training.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    ·         Deliver training on working with alcohol and substance affected families to caseworkers and supervisors of local Departments of Social Service and voluntary agencies.

    2.          Two years of experience working with children and families affected by substance misuse and knowledge of substance use disorders.


    3.          One year of experience in the delivery or development of instructional programs for adults and providing consultation.

    5.          Knowledge of adult education theory.


    6.          Excellent writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Under the direction of the manager or designee, the Senior Technology Trainer will provide instructor-led classroom-based and virtual classroom training on all aspects of the CONNECTIONS application to state, local district, and provider agency staff throughout the five boroughs of New York City and the surrounding area. They will also provide leadership to training teams, serving as master trainer for CONNECTIONS and supporting the development of system knowledge and platform training skills for these teams.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) reauthorized the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV) and continues providing funds for career and technical education (CTE) programs for our nation’s youth and adults.  The Grant funds fundamentally seek to develop more fully the academic knowledge and technical and employability skills of secondary education students and postsecondary education students who elect to enroll in career and technical education programs and programs of study, prepare students in postsecondary education for employment in high skill, high wage or in-demand jobs in current or emerging occupations. The Perkins Goal Coordinator focuses on overseeing and monitoring program compliance, activities relating to the evaluation and enhancement of CTE programs of study including data collection and reporting.  The Coordinator reports to the Grant Project Director.

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    • Coordinate the Perkins Grant major efforts, monitor progress towards goals and outcomes, within Rochester Educational Opportunity Center (REOC).
    • Conduct the day-to-day tasks related to the monitoring of progress of CTE programs
    • Coordinate and monitor Perkins grant operations to ensure integrity in the delivery of these services.
    • Make recommendations on Perkins operations regarding performance outcomes to Project Director.
    • Work collaboratively with Research Foundation and REOC administrators, faculty and staff.
    • Respect Grant sponsor established protocols.
    • Facilitate report writing by monitoring the extent of major effort impact at REOC.
