    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
    The Assistant Manager of Continuing Education & Professional Studies will be responsible for managing the day to day operations for Contract Training, Open Enrollment Courses, Early College, Technical Pathway Programs, and Online Personal and Professional Development Courses.

    The assistant manager is a team player, who will work collaboratively with campus-wide student support areas (e.g. Business Office, Student Financial Services, Registrar) to support the needs of students, as well as external agencies, assisting with a variety of projects and assignments as needed in a fast-paced work environment. University service through committee and workgroup participation is expected with the potential for some travel.

    The Assistant Manager of Continuing Education & Professional Studies is responsible for:

    1. Provides daily customer service support for all students and visitors; a generalist in all office areas; ability to answer phones and emails thoroughly; conducts meetings with students and visitors in-person or virtually, providing a comfortable atmosphere;
    2. Coordinating communications with registrants, campus departments, High School partners and outside agencies as necessary; Creates personalized communications through technology (e.g. signal vine, fire engine red) to promote professional studies to varied populations
    3. Assists the Director with procurement, payment/reconciliation, and management of the office budget; monitor expenditures, maintain all financial accounts and records.
    4. Developing and managing an online registration and payment system for Open Enrollment Courses
    5. Secure venues, coordinate technology needs, set up of classroom space/events, reserve equipment and services as needed
    6. Fulfill reporting needs for all internal and external constituents to assure accurate data for assessment of all events;
    7. Collaborates with the Director of Continuing Education and Professional Studies for program marketing and advertisement
    8. Insures compliance and assists with all reporting in regards to SUNY, state and federal regulations

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
    2. 1-3 yrs demonstrated experience in accounting and budget
    3. Demonstrated background in data analysis and analytical skills
    4. Demonstrated knowledge of Banner or other student management system
    5. Knowledge of Microsoft and other software programs
    6. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal Skills
    7. Valid Driver's License

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
      
      Masters degree

    2.    A minimum of two years’ experience in social services; child welfare programing in State, County or Voluntary Agency.
    3.    Knowledge of recent federal and New York State child welfare initiatives.
    4.    Excellent writing, speaking, training delivery, and interpersonal communication skills.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    1.    Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in social work, human services, adult education, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience OR Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in social work, human services, adult education, or a related field, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
    2.    Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the development and delivery of curriculum and /or instructional programs for adults, including the development and delivery of outcome-based training programs;

    POSITION DETAILS:
    The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager is an important administrator for SUNY Oswego's Division of Extended Learning located in Oswego, NY. The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager plans, schedules, promotes, coordinates and tracks the delivery of SUNY Oswego's Summer & Winter Sessions courses in close consultation with department chairs, faculty, and other academic offices such as Experiential Learning and International Language & Education Center. As courses may be offered online or in person (at the main campus, at the Syracuse Campus, or offsite at any field location), this position collaborates with the Instructional Design team, Syracuse campus and faculty to confirm components of online and in person delivery. The Summer & Winter Sessions Program Manager also creates faculty contracts, authorizes payroll, and facilitates both pro-rated faculty pay revisions and the course cancellation process.
