Join us as we learn from Leaders of SUNY Oswego’s Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Transformative. https://ww1.oswego.edu/diversity/  Presenters  will discuss the importance of DEI in the workplace and ways to create a sense of belonging for all members of your community. Presenters will share the Institute Model highlight upcoming projects and initiatives.   We will also discuss the recent efforts of the Bias Prevention and Response team.  Participants will take away solid models and best practices of how to increase DEI efforts on your campus. 

Presenter: Anneke McEvoy


Anneke McEvoy (she/her/hers) is the Associate Director of the SUNY Oswego Institute for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Transformative Practice. In addition to supporting all functions of the Institute, Anneke has developed training and workshops for all constituents of campus on a broad range of topics including personal and social identity, implicit bias, microaggressions and Nonviolent Communication. She coordinates student internship opportunities for the Institute and recently secured funding to launch the Oswego Dialogue Project, a campus-wide effort to increase capacity for facilitated dialogue to explore challenging and divisive topics. Anneke is also the deputy coordinator for Title IX. As former Co-Director of the SUNY Oswego School of Education O-RITE Project and as a visiting assistant professor in Oswego’s undergraduate TESOL program, Anneke has taught and mentored teacher candidates and practicing teachers across New York State. She holds a BA in English Literature with a concentration in Creative Writing from Wells College and a master’s in TESOL from the School for International Training.
