Frequently Asked Questions

Why are CEANY membership dues changing?

The CEANY Board of Directors regularly reviews the organization's financial health to ensure we can continue providing high-quality services and opportunities for our members. This adjustment—the first since 2019—reflects increases in operating costs while allowing CEANY to continue investing in professional development, advocacy, networking opportunities, member resources, scholarships, and new initiatives. The revised structure also better aligns institutional membership with the size and participation levels of our member campuses.

What does my CEANY membership include?

Institutional membership provides access to a wide range of benefits, including:

  • Discounted registration for the CEANY Annual Conference and professional development events.
  • Access to webinars, workshops, and educational programming throughout the year.
  • Networking opportunities with continuing education, workforce development, and community education professionals from across New York State.
  • Legislative and policy updates affecting continuing education and workforce development.
  • Opportunities to serve on CEANY committees, present at conferences, and take on leadership roles.
  • Access to member communications, resources, and statewide best practices.
  • Automatic membership in the Coalition on Adult Basic Education (COABE), providing additional national professional development resources and member benefits.

How do we determine which institutional membership level is right for our campus?

Institutions should select the membership level based on the number of faculty and staff they anticipate enrolling as CEANY members during the membership year.

  • Institutional Level 1 ($425): Best for campuses with up to 5 active members.
  • Institutional Level 2 ($540): Ideal for campuses with 6–20 active members.
  • Institutional Level 3 ($595): Designed for campuses with 21–40 active members.

If you are unsure which membership level is the best fit for your institution, please contact the CEANY Membership Committee. We are happy to help you determine the option that best meets your campus's needs.

When do the new rates take effect?

The revised institutional membership rates will take effect November 1, 2026, and will apply to all institutional membership renewals and new memberships beginning with the 2026–2027 membership cycle.
