Beyond Burnout: Strategies to Thrive Amidst the Challenges of Higher Ed Roles
Don’t you hate it when the work you love is bound by conflicting priorities, high student and administration needs, never enough time? Sometimes it’s described as building the plane while you’re flying it. While you’re feverously flapping your wings, these can all lead to high levels of daily stress. Research spanning 1993 to 2023 details the burnout and negative work impact experienced by faculty and administrators in higher education, painting a vivid picture of the toll it takes.
There is hope! In this insightful and interactive talk Douglas shares principles and practices designed exclusively for administrators and faculty to inform and inspire your higher education work and broader setting of life. This talk transcends the statistics, offering tangible tools to reclaim joy, purpose, and resilience in the demanding landscape of higher education. Join us for this engaging exploration.
