The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College is seeking a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill a Senior Programmer/Analyst Project Lead position within PDP’s Instructional Technologies Unit. This position is located in Albany, NY with the option to work remotely.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Senior Programmer/Analyst Project Lead serves as a project leader and lead programmer and is responsible for overseeing development, programming, database design, architecture, and ongoing maintenance for systems projects. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Architect and design database-driven web applications.
· Complete advanced programming duties needed to support and maintain dynamic, database-driven Adobe ColdFusion-based websites, web applications, tools, templates, portals, and online courses.
· Ensure that unit web-based applications and related products meet quality and technical standards.
· Test and remediate application functionality.
· Oversee server application upgrades and migrations.
· Recommend and implement new technology, tools, applications, and methodologies as appropriate.
· Supervise and mentor programmer/analyst staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1) Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education (USDOE) or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
2) Minimum of five years of experience developing ColdFusion or equivalent applications and maintaining dynamic database-driven applications in a Microsoft SQL environment.
3) Ability to conceptualize, design and build complex web applications to client specifications, including but not limited to registration, tracking, administrative, and reporting systems.
4) Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
5) Thorough understanding of Section 508 or W3C WCAG 2.0 accessibility standards for the web.
6) Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to meet posted deadlines.
7) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
8) Excellent organizational skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1) College degree in computer science or related field.
2) Master’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
3) Experience in front-end responsive web design.
4) Experience in designing and developing learning management systems or related training portals.
5) Experience working with external systems to exchange authentication or other data.
6) Experience supervising and mentoring other developers.
COMPENSATION: Salary is expected to be between $83,000 and $86,047.
