The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work as a curriculum developer/trainer on PDP’s Child Support Training and Outreach Project team of seven professionals, developing and delivering both instructor-led, virtual and in-person, classroom-based training.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
⦁    Prepares for and conducts project activities, which includes developing and delivering training and specialized support activities to a statewide audience.
⦁    Designs and oversees development of courses from concept to completion; develops objectives, prepares sequence and pace of events, creates storyboards, plans and develops activities, writes content and scripts, and prepares related materials.
⦁    Applies knowledge of adult learning principles when designing courses; follows sound instructional design process when developing or revising course offerings.
⦁    Designs and conducts effective evaluation components for project activities; analyzes results and uses in revising current or developing new offerings.
⦁    Acquires subject matter expertise in NYS’s child support policies and procedures, regulations, and data management systems; acquires knowledge of procedures and practices that are implemented at the district level in support of state rules and regulations.
⦁    Gathers and analyzes needs assessment data through focus groups, site visits, surveys, job task analysis, policy and practice review or any other activity that will contribute to the statement of need, identification of desired outcomes, and scope of content when revising current or developing new offerings.
⦁    Develops presentation materials that most effectively support training delivery such as trainer notes, guides and scripts, media, visual displays, or other training aids; develops participant handouts and other support materials.
⦁    Produces well-written materials for courses or other project activities, as well as information for quarterly or other reports.
⦁    Follows protocol related to preparing for training or other project activity delivery—scheduling and securing sites, managing registrations, preparing materials, making travel arrangements, providing customer service, promoting project offerings, monitoring supplies and maintaining equipment.
⦁    Achieves competence with using the sponsor’s learning management system (HSLC) related to project activities.
⦁    Based upon identified needs of the sponsor determines if training is an appropriate solution; formulates and presents recommendation to stakeholders.
⦁    Determines most suitable training delivery method based on desired outcomes, available resources and ability to meet the needs of a geographically dispersed audience.
⦁    Keeps abreast of latest trends and established best practices in the field of job training, workplace learning and performance support as well as training design, development, and delivery; conducts research or attends training as needed to stay current on emerging training delivery methods, technologies, and tools.
⦁    Supports the purpose and goals of the Child Support Training and Outreach Project; keeps abreast of sponsor requirements and priorities related to completing project activities; follows established protocols for working within field-based environment located at OTDA.
⦁    Develops strong working relationships with other project staff as well as the DCSS program, social service district (district) child support and OTDA’s Bureau of Training and Staff Development staff; collaborates with DCSS program staff and district child support staff as needed to complete project activities.
⦁    Shares knowledge, experience and exemplary skills with other project, sponsor, or PDP staff.
⦁    Uses sound project management process when assuming lead responsibility for completing project activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
2.    Minimum three years’ professional experience preferably in design, development, and delivery of workplace training programs.
3.    Strong written communication skills including writing, proofreading, and editing skills with demonstrated proficiency with English language grammar/usage.
4.    Strong oral communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to speak clearly and confidently as a trainer/presenter.
5.    Experience and comfort with delivering training using both classroom-based and live, remote technology-based training delivery methods.
6.    Experience designing and writing training/curricular materials.
7.    Computer proficiency including electronic mail, calendar, document sharing, document templates and presentation tools preferably MS Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and PowerPoint.
8.    Able to manage time effectively and deal with multiple priorities.
9.    Strong interpersonal skills with strong team and customer orientation.
10.    Applicants must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population.
11.    Must be able to travel throughout NYS to areas not served by public transportation to conduct work activities.
12.    Able to lift and transport training materials (up to 40 pounds) or equipment (laptops, projectors).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
2.    Proficiency in instructional design process and knowledge of adult learning principles.
3.    Experience with NYS child support or other social service/public welfare programs.
4.    Familiarity with government regulations and policy, workplace policy and procedures, or data management systems related to casework or accounting.
5.    Experience with, knowledge of, or ability to learn HTML, Adobe design tools, RoboHelp, Camtasia, or other computer tools including presentation tools, and web-based training or meeting delivery tools such as Webex.
6.    Willing to learn and grow with needs of the project and PDP.

COMPENSATION: Salary is expected to be in the Low $60s
