Topic: Successful Grant Writing

Description: You know you need to obtain external funding…. That means writing a grant!!  Does the thought of writing a grant make your knees quiver?  No need to be fearful, we will develop YOUR idea into a fundable project. This highly interactive half-day session will help you develop a new skill set.

Please come with at least one idea to use as a real world exercise in fine-tuning a concise need statement, learn how to use statistics to support your concept, develop activities to support the project, and identify what budgetary considerations will guide your project.  Our facilitator will also present strategies on how to identify funding sources that will fit with your idea.

Bringing a tablet or laptop is recommended. If you attend(ed) the webinar in August, this WILL NOT be a repeat – it will expand and enhance that learning.

Presenter: Ms. Patricia (Tish) Williams serves as Director of Scholarship and Grant Development for The College at Brockport/SUNY. She has been working with grants for over 20 years between both Brockport and Monroe Community College. She was a co-author of a $16.5 million US Department of Labor grant that had over 30 partners, several NSF, US and NY Department of Education grants, and a wide array of private and corporate grants. Tish has a conducted several conference and College workshops and has recently converted her traditional one-credit grant writing course to a 100% on-line offering.
