    Job Title: Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
    Position includes teaching Electrical Engineering technology courses and further developing our Applied Science and Technology Degree.  Courses may include Introduction to Electrical Engineering, Electrical Science, and other courses related to an electrical technology track in our Applied Science and Technology AAS degree; courses may also include those in our Engineering AS degree. Teaching credits may involve teaching face-to-face, remote, day, evening, online, hybrid, and HyFlex courses. The successful candidate will collaborate with colleagues and local industry partners to maintain, develop, and update course curricula, and programs.   Other activities will include student advising, serving on college committees, coordinating internship experiences, holding office hours, and outcomes assessment.

    The successful candidate will be also afforded release time in their first two to three years to assist with developing programming in our AST (Applied Science and Technology) program.  The AST program is a dynamic degree designed to meet the needs of local employers and transfer students in a variety of applied science areas.  Development of the AST program may include building/revising micro credentials and/or program tracks, utilizing existing or new contacts to build an advisory board, and relationship building with local industry. Furthermore, the College has received grant funding from New York State and is building a new Electrical Engineering lab.  

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and substantial industry experience and certifications or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, and 5 years or more professional experience in applied advanced manufacturing or electrical technology research or related work experience in the field. Experience preparing technicians for emerging jobs in the applied science and technology sector. College teaching experience is desirable, especially as it relates to working with a diverse student body.

    COMPENSATION: Salary is expected to be in $56,897 - $71,120 range.  Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

    A Master’s degree and minimum of 5 – 7 years of managerial experience, with supervisory responsibilities is required.  

    COMPENSATION: Salary is expected to be in the $74,035.00 – 81,000.00 range annually

    Job Title: Education and Vocational Case Manager – at risk adults

    The School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Lehman College is seeking an experienced Education and Vocational Case Manager to recruit and support eligible candidates living at New York City public housing sites for the HRA Pathways program.

    The program provides education and career counseling for tenants to attend job-training or degree programs at CUNY campuses or approved non-CUNY schools. The program also provides funding for tuition, books, supplies, transportation, exam fees and professional licenses. It also provides job search support and stipends for unpaid internships.

    OTHER DUTIES:
    Reporting to the Program Director, the Education and Vocational Case Manager will:
    • Provide educational vocational counseling to tenants in 4 public housing sites.
    • High-touch service to a caseload of approximately 30 to 40 tenants a semester.
    • Provide outreach and recruitment through orientation sessions at housing sites, a monthly newsletter, and direct outreach to tenants and housing site staff.
    • Assess tenants' interests, employment history, education level, and abilities in order to develop appropriate education and employment plans.
    • Research specific education and training programs that align with each tenant's goals and abilities.
    • Support tenants to ensure that they successfully complete their programs of study.
    • Follow up regularly with tenants in person and by phone, email, and virtual meetings.
    • Maintain case notes and input data to document all education and employment contacts in our online platform.
    • Distribute and track MetroCards, loaner laptops, loaner MiFis, and other benefits that the program provides to tenants.
    • Communicate with external and internal partners on behalf of tenants and the program.
    • Present workshops at housing sites, with or without external vendors, that will help participants develop and reach their personal, educational and career goals.
    • Pursue and develop collaborative relationships with employers and industry experts.
    • Assist the program director and program coordinator with specialized technical support including but not limited to online workshops, databases, benefits calculators and educational technology projects.
    • Assist the School of Continuing and Professional Studies with occasional projects.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree
    • Minimum of two years of experience working with underserved populations.
    • Education and vocational case management experience.
    • An interest in the complexities faced by adult learners receiving public assistance, and the willingness to assist them in working through multiple barriers to enroll in and complete education programs and/or find employment.
    • Flexibility in work location including two days a week in Hollis, Queens.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Good basic technology skills including email, phone, text and virtual meetings.

    Preferred Qualifications:

The program is dedicated to enabling legacy entrepreneurs and others to start up and manage small businesses by applying for cannabis licenses.Reporting to the Director of CUNY on the Concourse, the case manager is responsible for providing support with the preparation, planning, launching, supervision, and scaling in all areas of the program starting with recruitment and culminating in starting and running a successful business. The Case Manager provides direct  support to the entrepreneurs in the form of referrals, follow up and tracking.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinating outreach, recruitment, screening, pre-assessment, and enrollment of new applicants.
    • Advising and motivating entrepreneurs through in-class workshops and one-on-one client sessions.
    • Observing established program’s confidentiality measures during case management.
    • Identifying and establishing reciprocal referral relationships with relevant community-based organizations, social service agencies, and local immigrant organizations to meet students’ needs.
    • Providing crisis intervention, support, and referrals to social services for students.
    • Participating in funder update and reporting activities, including the writing of monthly and quarterly reports on program and student outcomes using compiled data and student feedback.

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
    The School of Continuing and Professional Studies at Lehman College is seeking a business advisor to support entrepreneurs in the Cannabis Workforce and Business Development Training Program at Lehman College. The program is dedicated to enabling legacy entrepreneurs and others to start up and manage small businesses by applying for cannabis licenses. Reporting to Lehman College, Director of CUNY on the Concourse, the business advisor is responsible for providing support with the preparation, planning, launching, supervision, and scaling in all areas of the program starting with recruitment and culminating in starting and running a successful business.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The business advisor provides a comprehensive range of small business-based assistance including one to one client counseling in the area of cannabis business licenses. Assistance includes business plan development; understanding analysis, preparation and structure of financial statements, such as cash flow projections, income statements and sources and uses statements; automated and manual record keeping systems; human resource issues such as staff supervision and management, employee rights and responsibilities, professional development, and working with clients on market-related issues such as advertising, promotional functions, social media, surveys, and other related topics.

    The business advisor implements and/or participates in orientation and training sessions and provides follow up services as necessary to attendees.

    The business advisor acts as a clearinghouse for information for clients and other interested individuals and refers, when appropriate, those individuals to outside entities that can provide additional support services, e.g., pro bono lawyers.

    With the goal of improving services, the business advisor gathers written feedback from assisted clients for program service refinement and promotional purposes.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Able to provide quality one to one business advisement to a varied and complex range of clientele
    Strong organizational skills in order to maintain a high level of activity while adapting to the time- sensitive nature of business decision making.
    Dynamic presenter for recruitment/training events; ability to engage with a group of people; respond to individual concerns and interests while staying on topic.
    Ability to establish a network of professional contacts for referral purposes in response to an ever-changing business climate in the emerging cannabis sector.
    Experience: The position requires no less than three year's experience in private sector business or related public technical assistance environment.
    Education: The position requires a Bachelors Degree in the area of business, management, finance, economics or related field.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with at least three (3) years’ experience as a business advisor
    • Knowledge and experience of the CUNY system and/or NYC government agencies.
    • Familiarity with Bronx Community Based Organizations, economic development agencies and legal services.
    • Familiarity with cannabis industry.

    COMPENSATION: Annual salary range is expected to be $65,000 - $80,000
    Position is grant funded until 2025.
