The Professional Development Program (PDP) of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College seeks a service-minded individual who is committed to performing high-quality work to fill a Project Staff Assistant position in Albany, NY

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Review Educational Incentive Program and Quality Scholars applications to determine eligibility and issue scholarship awards when applicable. The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
⦁    Complete a detailed review of EIP program scholarship applications for compliance with all program requirements and process applications accordingly pursuant to that review.        
⦁    Review courses on EIP program scholarship applications to ensure they clearly reflect the subject areas required by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services regulations.
⦁    Use effective interviewing skills and critical thinking to obtain clarification and additional information from applicants and training organizations.
⦁    Issue EIP scholarship awards to eligible applicants.
⦁    Conduct daily correspondence with EIP participants and training organizations by phone, mail, email, and fax.
⦁    Assist in the continued development of EIP operating procedures.
⦁    Assist in the development of EIP program materials.
⦁    Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1.    Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization in Education, Public Administration, Business or related field.
2.    Excellent communication (interpersonal, written, and verbal), customer service, and telephone skills.
3.    Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to complete tasks with a strong attention to detail.
4.    Knowledge and experience in the early childhood field, specifically child care.
5.    Applicants must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
6.    Ability to sit for several hours and the ability to lift and carry 20 lbs. on a regular basis.
7.    Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Access).
8.    Ability to maintain confidentiality.
9.    Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1.   Fluency in Spanish
2.   Familiarity or experience working with the Educational Incentive Program.
3.    Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.

COMPENSATION:   Salary is expected to be in the mid $40s

FLSA: -Exempt
