PRESENTATION FORMATS
There are fifteen - 1 hour slots for the following presentation formats. Typically, they will have 15-40 participants per session.

Workshops focus on learning from discussions of knowledge, experiences, and projects. Presenters act primarily as resource persons and are expected to facilitate group participation and the transfer and application of new knowledge and trends. For example, a presentation on best practices for extension center administration with a small group problem solving exercise.

Roundtables are informal sessions with 1 or more presenters. The presenters give an overview of a topic and then lead the group into discussion. For example, discussions by which group participants share their knowledge, experience and projects in Summer Youth Programming or Successful Marketing / Recruitment Techniques.

The conference committee will also consider a one – 80 minute showcase that all conference participants will be invited to attend.

• A Showcase is an expanded workshop presentation for introducing program designs, curricula and materials, teaching techniques, and evaluation methods and outcomes. Showcases are highly interactive and usually involve an exhibit of ideas, products, and/or processes. This session will receive special attention and are 80 minutes in length. For example, a presentation on today’s active classroom learning approaches and it’s impact with a live demonstration utilizing a student response system (e.g., clickers).

HANDOUTS
Handouts are required. Please bring a sufficient number of handouts to accommodate the maximum number of participants in your session(s). We suggest you bring 25 copies for workshops and roundtables and 100 copies for the showcase.

PRESENTATION METHODS
PowerPoint presentations are required or other highly active presentation.

AUDIOVISUAL EQUIPMENT & FLIPCHARTS

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

Clear lessons and replicable tools and techniques for other CE professionals - Though we will consider session proposals that cover a specific program or project, we prefer proposals that examine a program’s success (or those that didn’t hit the mark) and can provide lessons learned while focusing on transferability/implications for other CE professionals.

Well conceived learning formats - Attendees should be engaged as active learners and be provided with significant and well-designed opportunities for discussion.

Insightful - We are looking for provocative sessions that cover new ground, or that take recurring topics and advance the conversation to a deeper level.

Topical -We are especially interested in sessions that address the conference theme, although other topics will also be considered.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All session content must be educational, not commercial

All communication will be with the Lead Presenter only. It is the Lead Presenter’s responsibility to keep a co-presenter informed.

CEANY reserves the right to edit titles and descriptions. Because we usually receive more proposals than we can accommodate in the limited time and space available, not all proposals can be accepted.
